Can a bird be shot off a power line with a finger? (read description)?

my family friend recently said that his uncle and his dad were walking down the road one day when they were younger, about 12-14. and the uncle seen a bird on a power line, raised his finger like a gun, said POW! , and the bird fell off the power line. the took it home and cleaned it, and ate it. im not calling anyone a liar cause you never know if it might of been a coincidence. any answers?
