Does anybody agree with me that if George C Wallace hadn't been shot by Arthur Bremer in May 1972?

He would have made the 1972 Presidential election race a lot closer, and Nixon would not have had the landslide he enjoyed, as many people who voted for Nixon in November would have voted for Wallace, as in 1968. However, had Wallace not been shot and paralyzed, due to changing political cirstances, the message he adopted and put across, such as being for more limited government, strong law and order etc, would have been partially adopted and remoulded by someone like Ronald Reagan, as it actually was.
