Why are people so hateful?

I've been looking at questions for Atheists and most of them are directed towards Christians and are extremely hateful. Sure, you don't believe in God, but hate is just uncalled for. I know Christians are flawed, and so are you. If you want to get your point across, why not calmly have a conversation with one of us Christians. Some of us are cool and really do love God, but others... are just jerks. I'll be the first to admit that I've seen bad things going down behind the scenes in church. But we're human. Just like Atheists. So stop putting us on a pedestal and criticising someone who is just as imperfect as you. Its not nice. Try calm, organized, speech, and make sure you have points to back up what you do/don't believe. Geesh.
